This small picture is a great project for someone new to Hardanger or for the more experienced stitcher.It was specially designed to be an introduction to this beautiful form of embroidery. It's small enough for most embroiderers to sew in a day and big enough to be impressive when finished! The fabric is ecru (cream) Hardanger, approximately 10" square (25 cm square). Most of the stitching is in ecru Pearl cotton with highlights in the beautiful, hand dyed, varigated Passion Caron Wildflowers and Watercolours yarn. The stitches used are Kloster blocks, satin stitch, single band stitch, double running stitch and simple needleweaving with an easy filling stitch. The stitched area is approximately 5" square (12 cm square).
