Presencia Finca Perlé Cottons are a superb range of colour fast, long-staple 100% Egyptian cotton. All the colours are available in all the weights making it so easy to use for Hardanger embroidery - no more struggling to match up colours especially in #12!

Perlé, also called Pearl cotton, is used for Hardanger embroidery and for many other projects where a single non-divisible thread is preferred. It has a slight sheen and comes in an excellent range of colours and three thicknesses. No. 5 is used as the main thread on 22 to 25 count fabrics with no. 8 as the finer thread. On higher count fabrics no. 8 is often chosen for the Kloster blocks, etc, with no. 12 for the needleweaving.

The number 5 , 8 and 12 balls each contain 10 grams of thread.

A #5 ball contains approximately 44 metres
A #8 ball contains approximately 70 metres.
A #12 ball contains approximately 106 metres.

In addition to the 120 solid colours there are 33 variegated shades all of which are available in #5, #8 and #12. Variegated colour numbers all begin with the number 9.
